The MicoAir MG-F10-C is the cased version of the MG-F10: an L1+L5 dual-band GNSS module built on the u-blox NEO-F10N receiver with an IST8310 compass, supplied with a high-gain helix antenna on an SMA connector. Dual-band reception gives roughly 1 m CEP accuracy without RTK, and noticeably better results near buildings and in urban areas than single-band L1 modules.

The protective case shields the board on exposed mounts, and the helix antenna with 38 dB LNA speeds up satellite acquisition. Up to four constellations are tracked at once, with updates at up to 10 Hz. A blue LED shows power (solid) and 3D fix (blinking).

Key features

  • u-blox NEO-F10N, L1 (1575.42 MHz) + L5 (1176.45 MHz) dual-band
  • GPS/QZSS L1C/A + L5, Galileo E1-B/C + E5a, BeiDou B1C + B2a, NavIC SPS-L5
  • 4 concurrent constellations, up to 10 Hz, ~1 m CEP
  • IST8310 compass
  • Helix antenna on SMA with 38 dB LNA
  • Protective plastic case, GH1.25 connectors, separate PPS output

Specifications

  • Input voltage: 5V
  • GPS interface: UART (3.3V LVTTL), 115200 baud, UBX-PVT protocol
  • Compass interface: I2C
  • Connectors: GH1.25 (power, UART, I2C) + 4-pin GH1.25 with PPS; antenna SMA
  • Module size: 29 x 44 x 14.7 mm (cased)
  • Antenna size: 28 x 28 x 59.3 mm
  • Weight: 13 g module, 28 g with antenna
  • Firmware: ArduPilot 4.4.0+, PX4 1.14.0+

Compatibility

  • Best on ArduPilot / PX4 - mapping, survey and autonomous missions, especially near buildings. Includes NavIC (India's own constellation).
  • Wiring: GPS on a free FC UART, compass on the FC's I2C pads (SDA/SCL), 5V and GND. Connect PPS only if your setup uses it.
  • MG-F10-C vs MG-F10: same receiver, compass, antenna and accuracy. The MG-F10-C adds the case, GH1.25 connectors and PPS output. For the smallest, lightest bare board (6 g, SH1.0), see the MicoAir MG-F10.
  • Overkill for Betaflight GPS Rescue - a standard M10 module does that job.
